This series is likely the first in Japan to offer a shogi mat made of artificial tatami. Previously, mats made of igusa (rush grass) were prone to deterioration and discoloration, which wasn't well-regarded. Therefore, tatami mats for shogi boards have been in short supply. We also learned that there's a demand for such large sizes. This product meets those needs by being foldable and space-saving.
It took a lot of time and trial and error to create this product. Of course, it's handmade, using various tatami fabrics.
