Antique Brass / Bronze 19th Century India Temple Toy
Push Toy Camel w/ Wheels Axles are cast iron.
Good Antique / Preowned Toy with signs of wear that commensurate with age and use. This little toy is heavy for it's small size (4.16 oz.) so may be bronze instead of brass. It has a lovely vintage patina. Some damage to the wheels (to be expected,) but they still roll (awkwardly.) Ears may be worn down a bit.
Temple toys date back about 200 years. Circa 1920's - likely 1800's. Temple "toys" originated as devotional offerings but unintentionally became a distraction for children becoming well loved toys.
I took plenty of pictures so that you can see the condition, details and charm of this beautiful piece for yourself. So, there is certainly wear, but we have a lovely antique in this sweet Indian camel! It measures approx 3" tall & 2 3/4" long.
