This vintage commemorative plate was produced in 1959 for New York’s Year of History, celebrating the 350th anniversaries of Hudson and Champlain. The green transferware design features a central map of New York State with anniversary medallions, surrounded by labeled historic scenes and landmarks from across the Hudson Valley and Champlain Valley.
The plate was made by Kettlesprings Kilns of Alliance, Ohio, as shown by the printed backstamp on the reverse. It measures approximately 10 inches in diameter and dates to 1959.
Condition is very good vintage, with no chips or cracks observed. There is light surface and rim wear consistent with age, along with a few minor marks on the back that appear to be manufacturing or age-related and are visible in the photos.
This piece is intended for decorative or display use. Hand washing is recommended to preserve the transfer decoration. Not recommended for microwave use.
