The fishing season is regulated by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission which limits overfishing and ensures the species’ long-term sustainability. This year the season runs from October 15, 2024 to May 1, 2025.
- QUALITY SOURCING, SHIPPED FRESH. Your Florida stone crab comes to you direct from our fisherman. They catch daily, prepare the claws on the boat, and ship to you overnight in coolers with food grade gel packs to maintain freshness.
- FULLY COOKED. Our Florida stone crab legs are steamed in the shell on the boat. This process preserves freshness and makes it easier for you to get them out of the shell. As long as you keep them chilled when you receive them, the claws will retain their quality for 3-4 days.
- EASY TO PREPARE. All you need to do is reheat by boiling or steaming for a couple of minutes (depending on size of claw), crack, and enjoy! We recommend eating them with a simple dipping sauce such as melted butter, spicy mustard, or citrus.
- HOW MANY TO ORDER? The recommended serving size is 1.5 pounds/person. Your order will depend on how many people you’re feeding and what size claw you’d like to serve. Today Gourmet Florida Stone Crab Claws come in medium, large, jumbo, and colossal sizes. Medium claws weigh between 2-3 ounces each (5-8 claws per pound). Large claws weigh between 3-5 ounces each (4-6 claws per pound). Jumbo claws weigh between 5-7 ounces each (2-3 claws per pound) and are the most popular size for entrees. Colossal claws weigh between 7-9 ounces each (1-2 claws per pound).
