Vintage 925 Sterling Silver Celtic Knot Claddagh Ring size 9.25 in very good condition with minimal signs of previous wear and a nice patina. Simply stamped 925 and acid tested for silver purity, unknown maker.
In terms of meaning, the Celtic knot is a symbol of eternal love, representing the connection between two people, and the love and loyalty that binds them together. It also represents the interconnectedness of all living things, and the continuity of life. It has also been used as a symbol of protection and good luck. The Claddagh symbol is a traditional design consisting of two clasped hands holding a crowned heart, and symbolises love (heart), friendship (hands) and loyalty (crown). Its origin is associated with one of the tribes of Galway, the Joyce family.
